Annual Fire Drill Schedule for Calendar Year 2009

One fire drill will be held in each academic building (Molinaro, Greenquist, WLLC, Communication Arts, SAC, and Tallent Hall) per school year according to the schedule above.  Please, plan your classes (quizzes, exams, etc.) and other activities around this schedule.  If you have something scheduled which cannot be postponed or changed, please contact our office as soon as possible and we will see if there is anything we can do to accommodate your needs.  However, please understand that this accommodation may not be possible in every case.  Though an inconvenience, these drills are required as a minimal effort to prepare for an actual emergency.

Everyone must evacuate a building where the fire alarm is sounding.  Please, help by encouraging everyone, including reluctant students or visitors, to safely evacuate.  The administrative policy entitled Emergency Evacuation Responsibilities details faculty and staff responsibilities in the event of a building evacuation or emergency.   If you have any questions, contact Health and Safety/Risk Management at ext. 2262 or via e-mail here.

TORNADO DRILL Please note that UWP participates in the annual state-wide tornado drill.  The drill usually occurs in April.  A mock tornado watch and warning are issued by the state in early afternoon.  All departments and personnel are encouraged to participate.  Please read the Tornado Warning and Alerts Policy (administrative policy #39) for details on responding to tornado watches and warnings.
