SNAP is a local chapter
of the National Student Nurses' Association (NSNA) and the Wisconsin Student
Nurses' Association (WSNA).
Purpose
of SNAP
The purpose of SNAP
is to promote growth and leadship opportunities beyond those offered in
the nursing curriculum
SNAP
sponsors projects and activities to:
- Foster profesionalism
- Improve nursing
education quality
- Increase student
cohessiveness
- Positively influence
the health and well-being of those on our campus, in community, and
in the world.
Membership
Responsibilities
- Communicate: SNAP
is what YOU make it! Let fellow members know your ideas and concerns,
and help the organization put your ideas to good use.
- Participate: Keep
informed by reading newsletters, bulletin boards and attending meetings
and activities. Meetings are held once each month.
- Recruit: Spread
the good word about SNAP to your friends who are not yet members. Orient
them to the organization. Explain all the benefits of membership. BE
POSITIVE!
- Represent: Show
your pride in being part of a growing profession by having an appearance
of intelligence, competence, confidence, caring and success.
- Influence: Make
a difference in the nursing profession by positively fellow students.
Membership
SNAP membership is
open to all clinical and pre-nursing students enrolled in the UW-Milwaukee/UW-Parkside
Consortial Nursing Program. Dues are $4 per school year, and members who
also join NSNA receive free membership to SNAP.
