Study Abroad Opportunities
The University of Wisconsin-Parkside is pleased to announce the inauguration of a direct exchange program with Mexico. Direct exchange agreements with other universities abroad are also being negotiated. Until such agreements have been formally concluded, students still have other options. UW-Parkside students participate regularly in study-abroad programs administered through other UW-System campuses. Students wishing to participate in study-abroad programs are strongly advised to discuss their plans with a Modern Languages Department faculty member. There are quite literally hundreds of study-abroad programs available to students, but there are substantial differences in academic integrity, cost and transferability of credits earned abroad. Careful selection and discussion of academic plans with a faculty advisor in the Modern Languages Department can help to prepare for a successful experience. A useful summary of UW-System study-abroad programs can be found at University of Wisconsin Study Abroad Programs. For study-abroad financial aid information contact IEFA (International Education Financial Aid), which bills itself as "the premier Internet resource for financial aid information for students wishing to study in a foreign country."

Several Study Abroad & Internship opportunities are also available directly through German universities and institutes. Students are advised that programs not offered under the auspices of, or in cooperation with, UW-System campuses can vary greatly in quality and approval of transfer credit. It is strongly recommended that prospective participants in such programs consult with a Modern Languages Department faculty member. In that context, the following list of host-administered study abroad & internship programs is provided for informational purposes only:
