Susan's Butterfly Page This is where you can find each week's hubpage.
Susan's Archives If you are looking for a particular week, you can find it in my archives.
Dear Students:
The purpose of this page is to provide updates and let you know what you need to be doing to stay on track in the class.
- Double Absent Days -- As announced in class and emailed to you, the last two weeks of class attendance will count "doubly." Your course grade can go downward if you miss any class session during this period.
- Friday, April 27th at the beginning of class was the ABSOLUTE FINAL DEADLINE for this course. ALL VISUAL PRESENTATIONS were due. Failure to submit any missing discussion questions and unfinished work by this deadline will be an "F." Late work will NOT be accepted.
- Monday, April 30th -- Class will meet without me, as discussed in class on Friday. Your assignment on Monday is to construct a final exam covering the entire semester (including the correct answers), as a class. You must work on this as a CLASS, (not individually). Practice illocutionary discourse!
- Wednesday, May 2nd -- In class, we will continue our discussion of your visual presentations as well as discuss the final exam that the class constructed on Monday.
- Friday, May 4th -- The last day of class, we will discuss the "Teaching/Learning Model Revisited."
- You are falling way behind if: you are missing class and/or not doing any of the above-mentioned.
- If you would like to make more explosion boxes , I am keeping the link on this page.
- Interested in trying something new and different? Check out Wire Art . Jeanne has been working on alternatives to card making and boxes. She also incorporated the discussion on fear into this discussion.

James Thurber's image for "My World and Welcome to It" on Wikipedia
Jeanne's comments on the art work:
Thurber seems to have related his world to his home. How did my image of Susan's and my world differ? Consider that I took a much wider view of our world, coloring hers in blues for a softer, kinder edge, and mine in red, like my red dress, for the Red Queen's fast-paced, hectic world. Yes, that's the Red Queen from Alice in Wonderland.
James Thurber is entering his home with a portfolio under his arm, suggesting that he is an artist. I didn't picture Susan and myself as teachers in a classroom. Instead I saw a wonderfully pleasant vacation scene, with a cool, comfortable or hot Santa Ana ocean breeze wafting in with all the stories our Dear Habermas (DH) community has to tell. I wonder if that could indicate a love of teaching. I hope so. jeanne
