"Reducing Recidivism" - Professor Edward Latessa Lecture - March 5th

Professor Latessa, Professor of Criminal Justice at the University of Cincinnati will speak on "Reducing Recidivism: What Works and What Doesn't Work in the Criminal Justice System." His lecture will start at 12 noon on Friday, March 5th in D137 Molinaro Hall. The lecture is co-sponsored by SC Johnson, the Lecture and Fine Arts Committee, University of Wisconsin, Parkside and the Wisconsin Division of Community Corrections. This lecture is free and all are welcome to attend!

"Murder, Mayhem and Maggots: The Unglamorous Life of a Forensic Anthropologist" - Dr. Leslie Eisenberg Lecture - March 26th

This lecture will take place on Friday, March 26th at 12:15 p.m. in Molinaro 324. Dr. Eisenberg is the director of the Burial Sites Preservation Program at the Wisconsin Historical Society in Madison, and is a board certified forensic anthropologist who has been practicing in the field for a number of years. This event is co-sponsored by the Department of Criminal Justice.

The Criminal Justice Department and the Career Center are in the process of organizing a panel discussion on careers in criminal justice. Thisevent will be held during the noon hour. Stay tune for more details.

Community-Based Learning Certificate

UWP offers a ten-credit certificate program in Community-Based Learning. Community-based learning is a method which combines community service with academic instruction as it focuses on critical and reflective thinking as well as civic responsibility.
