In the latest report released May 2005, the Career Center has collected data on 54 out of 70 of our CRMJ graduates for 2003-04. Of those responding, 49 are employed, 2 are unemployed, 3 are unemployed by choice, 3 are attending graduate/professional schools and two are continuing education. The following is a sampling of job titles of our criminal justice majors: correctional officer (State of Wisconsin, Department of Corrections), police officer (City of Hartford), military police officer (U.S. Army), correctional officer (Lake County Sheriff's Office), probation and parole agent (State of Wisconsin, Department of Corrections), case manager (Countryside Association-Lake Center), case manager (Bureau of Milwaukee Child Welfare), youth support specialist (Professional Services Group), correctional officer (Racine County Jail), security guard (Securitas Security at S.C. Johnson), youth outreach worker (Impact), program assistant (State of Wisconsin, Department of Justice), and dispatcher (Hales Corners Police Department).
CRMJ graduates were attending UW Madison and Hamline University seeking their J.D.s, while another student was attending Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Chicago.
According to a July 2003 report by the Career Center office, here is what some of our CRMJ graduates are doing: 45 graduates in major with 35 graduates reporting -- 23 are employed, 2 unemployed, 5 are unemployed by choice, 5 are attending graduate/professional school, and 5 are in continuing education. graduate/professional schools. Some of the job titles and employers of our recent graduates are: claims adjuster/investigator (GEICO Direct Insurance); Deputy Sheriff (Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department, Racine County Sheriff's Department, Washington County Sheriff's Department); Corrections Officer (Racine County Sheriff's Department); Police Officer (Racine Police Department, Mt. Pleasant Police Department); probation and parole agent (State of Wisconsin Department of Corrections); Counselor II (Lake County Health Department); Teacher (Milwaukee Public Schools).
UWP CRMJ majors who are continuing on to graduate/professional schools are attending: UW Milwaukee, UW Platteville, Northwestern University.
